To arrange a glider ride, simply dial (815) 286-7200 and we will schedule one of our FAA Commercial rated pilots to take you up in the blue skies over Hinckley Illinois (a beautiful suburb west of Chicago), where you can enjoy a real “birds-eye” view of the countryside and fly like a hawk or eagle. With our modern two seat, dual controlled gliders your pilot will offer you an opportunity to learn (and do) some of the flying basics, or you can just sit back and enjoy the ride.
Red Tail Ride - $99 *
This ride includes a tow to 3,000 feet above the ground and a flight which lasts approximately 20-25 minutes depending on weather. It is an enjoyable introduction to soaring with plenty of time to float on air and discover just how simple and fun it is to fly.
Eagle Ride - $159 *
This ride includes a Mile High (yes - 5,280 foot) tow above the ground and a flight which lasts about 35-40 minutes depending on the weather. On a clear day you can see … well, almost forever.
When are glider rides available?
Glider rides are provided during daylight hours and are generally available April through November and mainly on weekends, although, special arrangements may be possible for groups. It is best to make an appointment for your ride to assure that a ride pilot and a sailplane are available. However, we can sometimes accommodate walk-ups without reservations depending on our schedule.

The cost for all rides includes a required one-day trial membership.
A simple application form will need to be completed. Minors are welcome to fly with parental permission and signature. There is a Maximum Weight limit of 240 lbs per person. |
